Community InvolvementGood News Clinic The
mission of the Good News Clinics is to offer support and free medical care
to the indigent, homeless and low-income people in Hall County who have
no healthcare insurance and cannot afford medical care. In addition to
primary medical care, the Clinics also provide dental care and medications,
and all services are provided at no charge. In 1993, the Good News Clinics (GNC) opened as a non-profit Christian health center with the charge of nurturing broken bodies and broken souls, and the goal of healing both. Due to an overwhelming demand for dental health the Green Warren Dental Clinic was added in 1997. In June 2005, GNC moved into a much larger facility, enabling the clinics to serve a greater number of patients and providing dedicated space for the medical clinic, the dental clinic and the prescription medication dispensary. While the Good News Clinics and the Good News at Noon food and shelter ministry have similar names, the organizations are separate and have separate facilities, boards of directors and separate operating budgets. Sam Poole Medical Clinic The Sam Poole Medical Clinic provides primary healthcare services to people with multiple and complex medical problems that would otherwise, and repeatedly, end up in the emergency room. It is the principle focus of Good News Clinics to provide this large and still growing patient base with the continuity of care that is necessary to keep them out of the hospital. During their first appointment, patients receive medical and laboratory screenings to identify any areas of concern. The information is then carefully reviewed by the medical staff to determine patient needs and choose the appropriate physician volunteer for follow-up appointments. Green Warren Dental Clinic The Green Warren Dental Clinic provides acute dental care including extractions and fillings. A prevention program is conducted for all new patients explaining proper brushing and flossing techniques, and nutrition for oral health. Following the class each patient receives a dental exam including x-rays and an appointment with a dentist. Children are scheduled for sealant and fluoride treatments. Good News Clinics Dispensary Several pharmaceutical companies provide the majority of the medications needed by GNC patients through their Patient Assistance Programs (PAP). All patients who qualify are signed up for PAP assistance during their first appointment. Pharmaceutical samples are the source of many medications dispensed by the GNC dispensary. The medications that cannot be obtained through samples or PAP program are purchased with donor funds. Visit the site! Friends of Recovery Friends

Accountability Court Systems in the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, and
all of its participants. It is the goal of Freinds of Recovery to be a true friend to those who are in recovery from substance abuse by supporting the Accountability Courts in the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, which serves both Hall and Dawson Counties. FOR serves to provide resources necessary for participants to complete their court mandated program and provide additional support when necessary. FOR also seeks to provide community education and awareness surrounding the issues of substance abuse and addiction. FOR seeks to facilitate community support and a network of services to enhance completion of Accountability Court Programs and enhance successful future recovery for participants. FOR desires to help our participants find meaning in their personal lives and become contributing members of our local community. We seek your continued involvement by being Friends of Recovery yourself as you support us in our effort to fulfill the mission stated by our name. Please join us in extending a hand of friendship to those in our community to enhance the success of recovery.Possibly the greatest need our participants have is a friend to stand beside them as they battle their addiction. Many times friends, and even family involvement is rare and therefore their support system is weak. It is our hope that with the community's involvement and support, we can continue to help our participants to find meaning in their personal lives and contribute to the overall community in healthy ways.
