Meet Dr. Bennett

Richard G. Bennett, Jr., DMD

Richard G. Bennett, Jr., DMD, is a native of Jesup, Georgia, and a graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. Dr. Bennett attended the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, where he was president of his class for four years. He was also involved in Omicron Kappa Upsilon Fraternity, a Region V Trustee for Southeastern Dental Schools, and served as president of the American Student Dental Association. Dr. Bennett is a recipient of the Georgia Dental Education Foundation Scholarship, as well as a two-time recipient of the Hinman Dental Scholarship.

Today, he is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the Academy for Sports Dentistry. He is also former board president of the Good News Clinics, a medical/dental clinic that provides free dental and medical care to the underserved and uninsured residents of Hall County, and, in 2013, he received the Georgia Dental Association Community Service award for his work with the clinic. In 2020, Dr. Bennett received the Dentist of the Year award during the Health Hall awards from the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Bennett was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the Georgia Board of Dentistry to consecutive terms in 2011 and ’15. Dr. Bennett currently lives in Gainesville with his wife, Maggie, and their three sons Mac, Harper, and James.
